SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30
(By Senators Mitchell, Sprouse, McCabe and Rowe)
Congratulating the Capital High School boys' basketball team on
winning the 2001 Class AAA championship.
Whereas, The Capital High School boys' basketball team had an
exceptional season which earned it the opportunity to participate
in the 2001 Class AAA championship playoffs; and
Whereas, The Capital High School boys' basketball team won the
Class AAA championship; and
Whereas, Carl Clark, Lowell Harris, Steven Freeman and Ahmed
Whitten, the team's coaching staff, are to be commended for their
outstanding leadership ability; and
Whereas, The players on Capital High School boys' basketball
team, including L. B. Booker, Donnavan Garland, Jeff Hayes, Tyrone
Robinson, Jimmy Lawson, Charles Taylor, Jamie Staats, Mike Pannell,
Josh Parsons, Marcus Houston, Justin Young, John Mark Atkinson,
Mario Crawford and Andy Jones, are commended for their outstanding
athletic ability, team spirit and sportsmanship; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Capital High School
boys' basketball team on winning the 2001 Class AAA championship;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the coaches and each team member of
the Capital High School boys' basketball team.
